We had a campsite in Sitka Alaska that was surrounded by ripe Salmonberries, we were warned of a brown bear who was also residing in nearby who was in the campground as well, but we didn’t run into him. On the cover of Eatable Alaska there was a photo of Strawberry shortbread with whipped cream, so this is an adaptation of that recipe for the campsite cooking.
